Sometimes you may want to check the initial release date of your favorite Android app, just to know how long it has been around. For a long time, there was no way we can get the information from Google itself. People rely on third-party services like AppBrain or AppAnnie to get the detail.
Recently play store started displaying 'Released on' date for all apps on their information page. But, it's a mystery why 'Released on' column is not available on any app page on play.google.com. Maybe they forgot to add and will add it in future.
- Open Play Store app on your Android.
- If the app is already installed, tap the hamburger menu (top left) and select 'My apps & games' and select 'installed' tab and choose the app.
- If the app is not installed, search for it and choose the app needed.
- On the app page, select 'READ MORE', scroll down to the bottom of the page, you'll see the initial release date under 'Released on'.
